well I pretty much gave up on my LT1 because it was running so badly, and started work on my ls1, I was gonna try swapping my ported LT1 maf ends for my LS1 maf ends, when I noticed the maf had been in backwards the whole time! could this cause a car to run like sh*t?

I dont think so because mine was on backwards after i put on my CAI and i didnt notice till after my run at the track. I switched it before the next race and it performed exactly the same. But go ahead and put it in the right way and see if it makes a difference on yours.
