Default Are after market cams interchangeable in OBD1 and OBD2

I've ran into a problem I bought a motor off some guy with a 1994 Z28 OBD1 and a now trying to put it in a 1997 CamaroSS with OBD2 What I wanted to know is if an aftermarket camshaft would fit on a 94 non-vented opti as well as a 1997 opti or would I have to enlarge the whole in the center of the cam to make it work with a 1997 Vented optispark or is the difference just in the cam Dowel pins what ever I have to do please let me know so I can make it work with my opti.
Thanks, 1sicss

I think the dowel pin is the only thing that will need to be changed. Well...i guess i figure out for sure when i try to install a 306 from a 94 into my 95 with a vented opti.

Yes, thats the only difference. When a new cam is bought it usually comes with both the pins or a longer pin with instruction to shorten it for earlier model applications.
