Default stripped head bolt

Welp i did it. went to tighten down my headers and tightened the one bolt down just a little too much. Sooooo.....

Pull the head take it to a machine shop have them fix it?

or....

Go nuts and buy new heads and throw a cam at it?

my question is, my car has 77000 miles on it, would heads and a cam be too much for the bottom end? because if im going to do it im probably going to go big, cc306 or gm847

any and all advice thanks
dave

Dave coming from another guy named Dave , i say do it.
Your motor has plenty of time left in it, and you will feel alot better about not having to pull all of your heads back off again. I would say go with some loyd elliot ported heads with a cam to match from him. I can see the **** eatin grin on your face right now.

Anyways you must have had to put some major torque on your wrench to do that, as i have put a good amount of force on mine before.

I did the EXACT same thing. I am in the process of putting everything back together right now. I went with a Joe O cam and a set of LE1 heads. If you send your heads to Lloyd, you can just tell him to put in some heli-coils like he did for me. Redo the whole top end, probably leave the bottom end alone like I did. I have about the same milage as you. Go with a Cloyes Double Roller Timing Chain. Then just get all the complimentary parts for your setup and you will be very happy. Im sorta glad it happed cause now my car will be a lot faster.
