Default Dropped motor out the bottom...

what an experience this has been. Although I know I could have done this probably in a day, I took my time and did it in three. Its just having the car up in the air so high and resting on jack stands that made me real nervous. Also, making sure everything was disconnected (I left on ground to the block hooked up and a coolant line hooked up) and out of the way was also kinda nerve racking. But, once it came down it is so much easier to work on. I plan replacing some ball joints and struts while everything is down, so this works out great.

I just installed this motor, it has less than 1000 mi on it and I believe I already spun a bearing. This is the reason to drop her out. I have pulled it out the top and now out the bottom. I dont know which way I really prefer, yet. Its nice to be able to separate the engine and tranny while theyre both out. As opposed trying to do this while its in the car. I just wanted to try this method and compare. So far, I'll lean towards dropping it as opposed to pulling.

Well, I just have to get this lil 396 to the machine shop and hope the news isnt to terribly bad.

Also, while everything is out I'll be removing the nose and doing the fmic mod for the t-trim.

Just wanted to share my experience!

Take it ez,
