Running lean in closed loop

Default Running lean in closed loop

As soon as my car goes into closed loop, my AFR meter shows 17 and up afr. Why is it running so lean? I checked for vacuum leaks but everything seems to be fine. Any ideas? FP is at 45 psi with stock injectors. Changed both o2 sensors and still the same problem.

It will go static @ 14.5,15.0 ....I dont think that is reading right!! 17?? My god that motor will not live! Something is not right here.

Is it showing 17 + at wide open throttle or part throttle?

At wot, it enrichens of course! But idling and cruising it is 17. I have it running open loop for the time being.

Don't know if this will help, but here goes. I had a very similar problem with my car (94 LT1 at the time). It was showing the proper fuel pressure at key on but once it ran a bit the fuel pressure dropped dramatically. It turned out to be a dying fuel pump. Is the car throwing codes? Idling funny? doing anything else at all?

The idle does seem to get a little funny when it gets into closed loop, a little choppy. My fuel pressure stays the same though in part throttle. No codes rither.

You known anyone with a spare mass air meter? I would try it just to see what happens.

I even tried running it speed density, and still the same.

This one has me baffled. I would take it to a dyno and see if the readings you are getting are correct. Just dont beat on it too hard running that lean. Good luck.
