Default pulling my a.i.r.

i have a 97 z28 im pulling the air out and have read past articles about the check enghine light coming on.i was just wondering if it will cause the car to do anything bad like burn more gas screw up other sensors.etc? i can live with the light on till i get the air tuned outalso is there a way to maybe close loop on the plug to maybe fool the computer into thinking the air is still hooked up?thanks

No you'll be fine. The AIR is just to heat up the cats, won't effect performance.

as long as you leave the relays and fuses in for AIR you should be alright.

bout a half hour , was slacking. ill i had to do was take all of the induction off ,3 bolts for the pump,1 bolt for the bracket behind the pump,1 nut on the waterpump for the bracket and the 2 fittings in the manifolds had to be replaced.the pipe that connects the two to the pump had to be cut to get it out from under the motor.other than that unpluged the pump and the little box on the pipe and tucked the wires away.

It's not a belt driven accessory, its job is to inject warm air into the exhaust for the first 3 minutes of startup to help maintain the cats. Pulling AIR will not gain you anything but engine bay space.

yeah, i know, just had to ask. It's not worth my time right now, but will be soon. I'll probably do it before I do the TB bypass to free up some room.
