yeah... the lt4 package claims 425hp, but i belive thats FWHP and all the supporting mods, prob a m6 too.... There are a couple of guys here that have made over 400 (or close to it) with a a4, but they went alot bigger then the hotcam

The HOT cam works but is primarily favored by newbies and those that don't take the time to do research, same with the LT4 heads and intake.

Frankly if you want to hit 400rwhp I would say go stroker it can be done with a 350 but drivability will be compromised. In which case wait on the cam as a cam meant for a 350 often will be a poor choice for a 383/396.

I'm running the hotcam and I'd go GM847. If I had the money when I did my rebuild I would have gone bigger but that's all I could afford when my 190k motor got shavings...

Daily driving and gas economy is good. I do plan to upgrade, when I get another daily driver.

The hotcam was in my car when I bought it. It sounds good, made good gains over stock, worked well with my n20, and had good driveability. It was a great all around cam to happen to inherit on a car, went low 11s at 125 in my old setup and had 10s in it for sure. Now I personally like to go bigger in my plans, but I'm also one of those 1% that think the less 'streetable' something is, the more streetable it is for me

If you want 400rwhp, I suppose some AFRs and a hotcam would get you close, but why not go bigger while you are there, esp because the LT4 springs that come with the kit barely hold the .525 lift as it is, so if you have to do all the work, why not do it right.

I think that's a little too general. IMO.

I've done lots of research, and sure there are lots bigger and better cams out there, but if a person was happy with what the had now but wanted a little lope and maybe a few extra HP, the Hotcam is a great choice.
