You need to give more info. What is the car used for? How extreme do you want it? What other supporting mods do you have? On a tight budget? Emissions in your area?

Just for the cam swap itself, youre going to need the cam, valvesprings, seats, retainers, locks, timing set, and pushrods wouldnt hurt. Lifters might need replacing depending on the mileage and the upkeep of the motor. And, dont forget gaskets. Youve got the timing cover set and the intake manifold set. It probably wouldnt hurt to replace the valve cover gaskets either depending on how old they are. Go with FelPro. While youve got it apart, its always nice to upgrade to some 1.6RR's but thats not a must.

More info needed...is it manual or auto, what gears you have, what type of headers you're installing, how much you're willing to spend, all play a part on the cam selection.

a4 more then likely its a 2.73 car...you will want to get a stall, and gears to go with your cam. as for the size it depends on what you really want out of the car. Do you need to pass emisions? are you gonna use stock heads?
