Everything a tutorial would have, we've already mentioned. Such as pulling your passanger side motor mount bolt out and jacking up the motor a few inches to clear the passanger side header.

Motor mount replacement.

Remove your drivers side valve cover for more clearance while installing, including removing your steering linkage.

You'll see once you get going what needs to be removed for an easy install.

Summitracing.com has a coated version of the LTs, is that a long last coating. its 429.95 seems pretty spendy for a set of LTs thats going to rust?

It may take more than a weekend unforeseen problems like broken bolts and such can arise, if you approach the install methodically and keep a cool head and take your time it really isn't that bad, but it stiil isn't a hell of a good time

You don't need an engine hoiste for headers...I don't think removing the steering linkage is necessary, mine slipped right in.

I think you're right... I took mine off just incase, 2 bolts, 5 minutes. I replaced the bushing in the center while it was out too.

My friend, you should not need to spend $700+ to get this work done. And why exactly do you need this experience -- are u planning to become a licenced mechanic or have a career in the auto field? Some jobs are better left to the pros. Anyways, I really doubt its going to cost that much. A good muffler shop should be able to do a job like this in 3-4 hours, and at an average labor rate of $80/hour, well you can do the math.

it takes little over two hours, no more than three,to do a straight swap after doing it a couple of times 10 or so. but then again we have any tool right there that anyone would need.

Once again...But you don't really need an install guide, it's very straight forward. Take the old system out, put the new system in.

You have all those mods and you're only running a 14.1? I wish I had M/T tires and 4.10's with a converter I'd be mid 12's.

Nothing is more straight forward than that it tells you how to do stuff....I don't see what the problem is. Everything is bolted on. Just take your spark plugs out if you don't want to accidentally break them and disconnect any sensors that may break. You have 1 cat...Everything else is just seriously straight forward. I would get a buddy to help you out. Much better with shifting everything. Sand down lightly the D-ports on the cylinder head to get any grime off. I heard using an RTV on the header bolts is good, I didn't put anything on them and have had no problems.

You'll be fine. Just take your time. Sometimes it can take almost a month to put them on depending on your time. It's fine doing it by yourself, and isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Make sure the flanges are flat too. Why do you need ramps? I was able to get the headers in just with the front up and jacking up the motor a tad bit.

What kind of friends aren't willing to help you? My friend Taylor helped me SO much during my installation, and it was a great help.

Well, i dont have a month to do it, i have a weekend or 2-4 days, i got my mums car but shes not going to let me drive it forever. I also keep hearing you have to jack the motor itself up to get the pass. side in? Dunno if thats true. And this other guy was saying his LTs kept hitting his steering column. I need to see if i can get my buddies jack, he has a nice one. And maybe ill go talk to this older guy and see if he can let me use some tools. But all in all i think im taking a task on that i cant handle. I just dont see how spendin $600 is worth it for header install.

It's not. Some guys have fitment issues, some don't. My y pipe is right on my floorboard. I haven't had any problems with the steering column. Maybe you should just wait for a nice long break from school or w/e to do it so you can find the tools you need and make sure you can get them around that time.
