Guide to Header Install?
Header INSTALL!! Hey, guys i just orderd my pacesetter LTs for my 93' lt1 im wondering what the hardest part about puttin these babies in is? ANd i havent workd on my car myself yet so this will be the first, and pointers suggestions? Anything is good!!

well i'm not familiar with lt1s but with my ls1 i had no problems with my pacesetter install. The hardest part (which you probably will encounter) is the rear passenger side bolt, its a bitch to get to, known fact though so i was prepared to be pissed off about it which lessened the blow. The other problem is getting the shitty y-pipe to fit on the headers, even when its right it just looks funny. I dont know if thats a problem with lt1s but i cant be the only ls1 with that problem. The install would have taken 3 hours if i didnt keep running back and forth to autozone for ****, it took like 6 hours BS included.
Is it all 4 bolts on the pass side? im really excited to do this myself cuz im not spendin $600 more to get em installed. I Have **** for tools too, so i might go pics some more up!
should i get some of those ramps to get my car up on? I have a shitty hydro jack i use to put my radials on i dont think thats going to help me tho. And i what stuff do you take off?

the hardest part is the tight space that you have to fit them into. Some people have had to unbolt the motor mounts to lift the engine enough to fit them in, another area of problems is removing the stock exhauste, rusted bolts, spray them with a good penatrating oil the night before you do them, then there is also the chance of stripping the head of a bolt, breaking it, or stripping the bolt holes in the heads.
a big plus is getting the car up in the air high enough to be able to manuver the headers anyway you need too.
oh, and another thing is don't break the oil pressure sending unit. right above the oil filter and in the way, most make this $50.00 mistake, usually ls1's when they are removing there intake manifold.

Get the car as high up as possible and just unbolt the motor mounts and jack the motor for the passenger side it will save a ton of time. Also be careful,I have the pacesetters on my ta and I'm having hell with them banging on the steering shaft,and search the topic I did it a while back and the internet saved me

Replace your motor mounts while you've got the old manifolds off. It's a lot easier then after you install the headers and find out they're hitting the k-member because of worn motor mounts. It's $40 insurance and a 30 minute job. I bought mine from ThunderRacing.

my best advice for doing headers is have a LOT of free time to do it (at least a solid weekend) and since you're a beginner, be patient and if you run into a problem, keep a level head and figure it out. take off whatever you can to make it easier but make sure you know how to put it all back together. good luck, it's a project for sure.

Well, i dont feel like spending $700+ for install at a shop, i need the experince too. Im sure whynot and some of my friends can give me a hand. I gota learn. **** i cant even change my own oil.

1.) drop pants, check for ***** and two *********.
2.) take your car to someone who has #1 and knows what they're doing.
