Need help diagnosing my 94 Trans Am
Hi to all . My name is Shane. I live in Dallas, Texas. I am new to the forum and I am currently having a major problem with my 94 Trans Am (LT1 Auto Trans). Just recently when I was driving I accelerated from a stop light ands got up to about 70 mph. When I let off the gas the car started downshifting on its own really fast. I barely made it home. On the way home it would stay in first and get up to 4000 Rpm then finally shift into second. Until the point it will not drive. Then i turned off the car for about an hour. then started it up and then it would drive for about 5 minuted with the same problem. Then it would not drive at all. It starts, but that is it. unless I wait for a little while then start it back up. Anyways I wanted to know if anyone could give me some insight on what it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My car has 137,000 miles on it
No such thing as vacuum on a 4l60-e it's all electronic. Scan it for codes then check back. It could be a shift solenoid or its's time for an overhaul. 11 years is kinda pushin it on a od even if it is taken care of. age is starting to catch them now seals clutches etc.
