Default Should I Install a Converter??

I have a 94 Z that had a stock exhaust but was missing the cat and actually sounded real good. Today I had a GMMG chambered exhaust installed and WOW this sucker is LOUD!!! If I would install a Random Technology cat would I gain or loose performance? I've been told that I might pick up a few hp or could possibly loose some. I would do this just to quiet the damn thing down.

you would gaining gaing some backpressure. in turn a loss of HP, slight gain in torque. I would recommend not installing it tho, unless you have strict emissions laws. But if it is just too loud the loss you will experience will be minimal in comparison to your comfort.

Very well said! We don't have emission laws here yet but I have to think about the future too. I would like to install LT headers so the converter I just installed lets say was just a waste of money. If I could find someone that makes dual cats for the LT1 I might go that route??? I had a 95 T/A that was built to the bone and it had Randoms dual cat system with headers and a Hooker cat back and sounded mean. Still wish I had that car...
