Well 14,000 miles isn't time for a new filter necessarily but it has enough miles that it could be dobbed up. I would check fire on all 8 cyls first because it won't cost anything--just time. I had a friend who was having performance issues in his truck and I said try the fuel filter. He replaced it and that wasn't it. He checked his plugs and he had a dead one. Case in point, it could be a few things so start with some simple diagnostics. On the coil, I had a MSD Blaster once and it only lasted 10,xxx miles or so. I like MSD stuff but I would go with a different coil here. I don't think stock would really lose you anything.

Manifold sensor right??? Oh, I guess that's what the computer thingie called the O2. Here's a little trick, try unplugging the O2s and the car should stay in open loop (I'm not 100% sure though). If it fixes it, then it's the O2. If you plug it back up and it starts crapping out, then it's getting bad data when it goes back into closed loop.
