Throttle body porting? Also, fan question. Alright, a friend of mine messed with his throttle body in his 97 Z28. Well, instead of having the butterflys, he cut that metal plate that is between them, and made it all smooth. Isn't that bar there for a reason? I mean, I would imagine there are two holes for some reason or another. Also, he took out the bar on the MAF and descreened it. I didn't think that would be a benefit either. Does any of this improve hp, or is it a waste of time?
Also, I have a 160' thermostat and want my fans to kick on sooner. Where can I go to get my computer to have the fans kick on around 170 or so? I don't know where or how I can get this kind of thing. I'm not going to go out and by a laptop or anything. Is there a specific place that will do this? I don't need a tune right now, just the fans to kick on a little sooner so my car runs cool.

The MAF mods may help a little, the TB mods, probably not. Most chips/programmers turn the fan on at a lower temp. I have a chip for a 93 and a hypertech power tuning module for 94 and 95 manuals and autos in the sales section. Make an offer if you want, just lookin to get rid of em, not really make money on them.
