fuel pump or regulator?
fuel pump or regulator? okay I discovered I am losing fuel pressure. I put hooked up a gauge up on the fuel rail. when you turn the key on it primes and hold pressure. with the motor running(at idle) the pressure varies from a little below 50 down to 25 PSI. it never stays at one pressure but vaies steadily. the motor runs fine. but if you snap the throttle a few time it will fall down below 10 and you can hear the motor studder. sometime it goe all the way to 0 and dies. but usually I'll crack the throttle open for a split second and the pressure will shoot back to 50. I wondering if that rise in vacumn was opening the regulator up. I'm trying to decide whether it is the regulator causing this or the fuel pump. now when it does die it will start back up on the first crank,everytime. I don't know much about the regulator's on these cars but it is getting good vacumn. I think it might be sticking though. I going to try and hook up my press gauge down by the filter tonight and see what the pressure does there. what does it sound like it is to you guys(pump or regulator) sorry for the longpost but just wanted to include all details. thanks
