unless it was some kind of early 93 thing that i don't know about then it has a 4l60 (not 4l60e)

4l60 was hydraulically controlled and the 4l60e is electronically controlled, hence the e at the end

edit-
The trans is a 4L60, which is a 700R4 with a different connector and extra check ball in the valve body.

Thx for the info man, i just tought it would be cheaper to do just bolt ons and n2o, But i will think about and save more money.I think i am gonna look for a 95 hopefully for about 3-5k. I will have to sleep on this. What times are all bolt ons runing? mid 12's?

has everything to do with the setup. i know of stock stall, stock cam cars that have gone 12.7, but a lot of people are still mid 13s or higher with even a decent amount of bolt ons.

suspension is key.

also since you're getting a TA, check out the thread below for information about the spoilers on TAs as they vary from the early years if that's important to u. i'd never have a TA with a molded spoiler (at least for long).

I love my 97, especially with the newer interior and gauge cluster. Besides, how many 97 formula ws6's do you know of with cloth interior and a hardtop . ObdII is more annoying when it comes to throwing codes, but atleast i can get them scanned at any autozone if I don't have autotap with me

93's came with the 700r4 NOT the 4l60e, and the "early" 93 m6 cars got the same t56 as the Viper, same tranny different gearing......

Technically you're wrong. They had a 4L60, not the 4L60E. It was a hydraulic tranny, basically the same as the 700R4 but GM changed the nomenclature.

if you would have read i already cleared up the 700R4/93 thing.

the t56s in 93 were available with two different gearing types dependant on which rear gears the car came with. there was a difference in first and final gear ratios. i wouldn't think that the viper would have the same input or output shafts either.

I was lazy and didnt read posts so sorry if I repeat but here is what I think... 95 is the best year.... I have a 97 btw.. But here is why... 95s have the vented opti for one thing less probs. They are obd 1 which means tuning software is WAY cheaper.. They are single cat which means its easier to take it out or cheaper for some headers. It has all the benefits of a 97 without having the obd2 pcm. If you are going to leave it stock then get a 96 or 97 if not buy a 95
