high idle?

high idle? searched but didnt find much... my car (89 rx7 with built LT1) has developed a high idle this week... was idleing at about 800 rpms but has now jumped up to 1600. wondering if there is a simple way to adjust this ?

I would say vacume leak, bad iac, sensor, or stuck throtle blades. but yes, you can adjust the idle set screw, you should see it sticking out and touching the stopper, you adjust is from the back side.
If you have a BBK throttle body, it could be that the throttle blades are loose in relation to the cable track on the TB, mine was idling at about 2600 rpm one day, not cool when you dont have a license and you are doing a massive brake torque at a traffic light because your TPS thinks your at like 12% throttle. I had to reweld the blade shaft to the cable track.
