LT1 rebuild

I'm currently rebuilding the LT1 for my Trans Am and I'm going to go with a CC306. I have a tune for a M6 car with the 306 running stock heads. Would you guys recommend running the stock tune on the car until it's broke in then putting the other tune on it, or will I be safe running the modified tune from the start?

Isn't the CC306 a little too big of a grind for the stock heads?

There are a couple of guys here that are running a 306 on stock heads and haven't said anything bad about it.
