Default Tire Size?

Alright, I believe I have 275/50/17's on the front. When I get my car, I want to put some 275/40/17's on the back. Does this matter, or will it look different or anything? I was just curious, because I really need some DR's.

Thanks

The 40 series tires will be a lower profile compared to the 50. It will be a small visual difference in tire height.

So, you really won't notice a difference if you looked at the car? Also, will it make the car ride funny or anything? I don't want the car to ride weird...

I think the difference would be noticeable. 50% of 275mm is ~138mm, compared to 40% which is 110mm. So you'd be looking at a 28mm difference in sidewall height between front and rear. It might not look too weird if you put the 40 series on the front. Lower profile tires generally give a little stiffer ride, but it shouldn't bee too bad.

Well, the 275/40/17's are drag radials. So, they would have to go on the back...So, I would have 275/50/17's in the front.

Are you sure its a 50 series tire up front? I would think that wouldnt look right.

Yes and it looks fine. The car drove a lot better once I put it on too.
