Default crank questions
what is the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring i am looking at it on ALLDATA and it shows a round thing that goes over the crank before the harmonic balancer hub i dont remember taking it off so i dont know what it is if anyone knows what that is and could explain it would be great and for the harmonic balancer hub getting it back on what do you do about the key in the crank and there is no keyway in the hub so how doea that work?

the reluctor ring is only used on 96-97 lt1 engines so misfires could be detected on obd2 cars, it is under the timing cover on the crank after the timing chain and gears.

There has to be a key way. If not, then I presume the hub just goes back on the same way it came off.

The bump on the hib lines up with the key on the crank.
