Does anyone have a 52mm TB?

what you SHOULD do, is buy a dremel set, or air powered cutter. Take TB off car...use the factory gasket to scribe 52mm bores.....bore the tb yourself. clean well, reinstall. cheapest tb you'll find.

Well I never ended up measuring all the way down to the blades to get an exact measurement of what i ground out, but I just tapered it down till it was very smooth, shiny and at the end was 52mm. Just fyi, you're not going to gain a lot from this, nor any aftermarket t/b (especially because they have other leakage problems which I won't go into since I have personally never experienced them).

you're not going to see any gains from porting the TB as you describe because you're not increasing the size of the of the throttle blades. There are gains in using larger diameter Tbs. The gains from them are generally smaller and $ per hp doesn't really make it worth it. however it's generally accepted that if you're seeing over 2" of vacuum at WOT you have a restriction in your intake.

Not sure what kind of setup you have hotpony, but from what I've heard/read, if your pretty much stock, and you strap on a 52/58mmtb, you'll immediately feel a loss of low end torque. If you're modded (h/c or FI) then you'll definitely benefit, but mostly at higher RPM's.

when i go home this weekend (im away at school right now), ill measure my tb blades. FYI, I had a friends 58mm on there, and it didn't feel any different for the month it was on there, just sucked more fuel. IMO, throttle bodies are a waste of money unless you have the nitrous one with the fitting machined into the bottom. But, to each their own.

well like I already said some people don't need a larger TB. Measure vacuum at WOT and that will give you a good indication whether or not you're going to need a larger TB.

Hotpony, I picked up another 10hp on the dyno by switching from a stock 48mm to 52mm on my LT4. I had headers, hot cam, hiflow cats and corsas on her. Her best was 334HP. I then swiched to a 52mm BBK while she was still stapped down and pulled 344hp 30 minutes later. Funny how so many people say there is absolutely nothing to gain from the 48 to 52 switch. I then sent my stock 48 to Koldos on the corvetteforum and had him bore it out to the 52 like the BBK. There is a little hiss from the intake but she works really nicely.
