Default Well the tranny finally went

107,000 and change and it finally went. First I noticed 2nd was slipping a little bit. It was going into the shop anyway for some usual age related maitenance. Needed ball joints, had a minor exhaust issue, and a pinion seal leak. Turns out I need a tranny and a new steering rack. Getting the tranny from Jasper, they're re-manufacturing it for. Bye bye $2500!

ouch... so in 94 were they still using 700-r4 or did they start using the 4l60e?

I know my dads was $1500 to pull and rebuild then install again.

I'm interested to know this as well. I'm pretty sure the 94 was a 700-r4 though.

2500??? eek. I would search around for already built units, users selling their 4l60e's etc, because that's a little high imo.

Its that high because its compeltely re-manufactured and the inherent factory problems of the transmission are removed and it has many additional things. I also kinda forgot to mention its 2500 for everything that had to be done. The trans is 1900 itself the rest is the otehr things that have to be done.
