Expect 15 to 25 hp less than some other Cat backs. I was a firm believer in flowmaster until I ran mine on the dyno without it. They still sound the best IMO thats why I kept it, just added some QTP cutouts for the track to free up the lost HP.

this isnt a cat back its just the muffs

Don't know much about the 50's but I think the Flowmaster catback and muffler that is more common on our cars is an 80 series. However, I know they have one series that's straight through (I think it's 10) so there's not much way they could restrict power.

If you like the fowmaster sound, get em. If you want more hp, get a magnaflow, dynomax, or borla. Flowmasters, on rare occasion, have been known to take away hp.

My old car gained 40 rwhp when I removed the 2-chamber Flowmaster. Though my results are worse than most, it's typical for a Flowsmasher to remove 15+ rwhp from any decent running combo. Spintech has demonstrated similar results.
