Default Headers and y-pipe for xmas..have some questions

I might be getting the Pacesetter LTs and y pipe for xmas. I just dont know if its worth it though, mainly because im uneducated on the subject.

Ok, so if i get the emissionless and catless setup what all do i need? This is what im under the impression of...

EGR and AIR block off plates
O2 junk (dont know everything...?)
Send in computer to get it programmed

Is that all that needs to be done?

Also, what all else do i need besides the headers and ypipe? Gaskets and header bolts right? Any other hiddens things that ill have to pick up? And, can the setup i have now be setup to fit the ypipe? You think its pointless to have the LTs and then jsut run the stock cat-back witht the 80 series?

I really want the headers, but if theres gonna be a bunch of hidden costs and stuff then i dont want to go through with it.

Thanks for the help

I just gave my intake to my friend and he took it to his welding class at school and just welded up the air and egr so if you know anyone with a welder for aluminum then just ask them if they could do it. You will need o2 extentions and possibly new o2 sensors not sure how many miles and condition yours are in. I just went to hpe and had all my emmissions codes turned off other than that your stock tune will be fine. I would suggest over the valve cover spark plug wires because the stock style burns very easily with lts and possibly some new plugs. Everything else should be fine and from what I have heard flowmaster is one of the worst mufflers for performance. And I would say go through with the lts and y pipe when I put on my lts and x pipe the gain i got was very impressive for just having full exhaust and cai so good luck

Hey thanks for the the reply

Where/what is hpe? What would be the equivalent of it around here? I dont want a different tune, but just like you i need the emissions stuff tuned out. Also, i would definatley do a tune up when i do the install. Do you have a link to the over the valve cover setup? Does it come with wires that are long enough or do i have to get some special kind of wires?

And about the flowmaster, ihave heard about it flowing crappy, but its what i have now plus i love the flowmaster sound. I cant afford a whole new catback with my headers

hpe is horsepower engineering its a performance shop here in houston. Im not sure where you are located but just about any performance shop that deals with lt1s/ls1s ect... should be able to turn off all your emissions codes. I got my wires from www.thunderracing.com it comes with the complete kit you just have to cut them to length and put the opti ends on. Yeah flowmaster sounds good but the performance isnt good compared to other mufflers, you could just look around for a used muffler im sure you could pick on up for fairly cheap you dont have to swap out your entire catback.
