Default Transgo Reprogramming Kit

I bought a "transgo shift kit" from a guy, so he said, but when I recevied it it said Transgo Reprogramming Kit. I saw ones' like this on ebay, so I'm thinking I just bought a cheap rip-off of the real thing. It's in a blue box and says 4L69E-HD2 on the side tag. Is this a fake on and what is the difference between this one and the one transgo from summit. If it's a fake then I will be pissed.

4l69-E???

There are two trans-go kits offered. There's a $50-60 kit that includes all the parts to do the fixes and updates on the transmission, Then there'es the $100ish kit that's the actual shift kit that includes everything in the smaller kit and more. The cheaper kit is ofent called the shift correction kit like the one in the ebay link below.

Here's the full shift kit one

Just so long as the 4L69E was typo caused by a finger slip with the 0 and 9 being next to eachother I would say it sounds like you got the right one. It is called a reprogramming kit because it does a lot more than just shift improvement. This is not a simple thing to install do some reading before diving it, doable by a shadetree but not a simple few hour thing.

There's quite a few people that would agree with me that the B&M shift kit for our transmissions are not ideal and can shorten transmission life. Quite a few professional builders would agree.

Yeah the B&M for THIS TRANNY is bad it only firms shifts and does not correct built in flaws like the Transgo does. You will not find one reputable and sucessful 4L60E builder recommending that kit again FOR THIS TRANNY, they may make great stuff for the TH350 or TH400 but not this tranny.

Summit probably sells the kit with the installation video and you got the kit more aimed at garages that does not include the video. This is a good thing though as the Video has not been updates as they have made further improvements to the kit so the video ends up contradicting the instruction sheet which has been updated. So the video would do little but make the already complicated project much more confusing.
