Converter Question?

Converter Question? whats up guys i am new the v8 world so bare w/ me. i just aquired a 1994 z28 w/ bolt ons, a 410 gear, and a 100shot i wanna do a converter next. but dont know what size, or much on the subject. i know i need one w/ anti balooning plates for nitrous. anyone got any suggestions? thanks guys

i agree with 30th, however that gear might give u trouble with the n2o down the track by putting you into overdrive if you're juicing out of the hole and through the shifts. maybe a 3:73 gear, thats what my friend had with his 3200 yank nitrous converter with a progressive controller.

thanks for the input! if it matters the car is auto and runs on mickey radial. near futre plans are to port the stock heads some sorta cam and when i do the converter i am adding a transcooler, and shift kit. i have been told abou tthe 410 and am looking into 373. thanks again guys. joe
Vig is a good converter BUT they have a part number meaning they are not quite as custom as you would expect for the price. I would recommend only a 9.5" converter meaning NOT B&M.
My personal pick and one gaining a lot of popularity with the b-body crowd is edgeracingconvertes.com they are a few hundred dollars cheaper than Yank(another very good converter) and Vig because they do not use a billet cover like Vig and Yank do, the billet cover is overkill so while the Edge lacks it I don't think it fair to consider it weaker.
My picks would be in this order Edge Yank then Vig, have heard enough good about Midwest that I might research them somemore as well.
The Edge 2800 I have now is mild enough for the wife to take her mom.sister and grandma shopping yet still did great things for my times at the strip, I am going to go with another Edge after my next round of engine mods. They are also VERY reasonable on any rework like cleaning after a tranny blowup fills it with debris or restalls something else to consider when looking at converters. Think they might have a free restall for a short time after purchase where Vig and Yank offer it for a longer period. Just consider the later service as well because if you plan to have a converter for awhile chances are good you will eventually need service on it again be it because a tranny blew or a new combo dictates a differnt stall.
