Default Head And Cam Question

Yes, its another Head and Cam question. I was wondering what would be the best head and cam package to give me more mid range and top end, i dont mean all top end with like no idle, im just looking for a pretty good daily driver, nothing too extreme. And im not not looking to shift extremely high like 7K or anything like that, just looking for something for more mid range and high end power, and im also looking for good heads to compliment it. Also dont worry about supporting mods, I know all about those, headers, gears, converter, etc. ,etc., just trying to look for a good H/C package. Thanks

I think any reputable porter could setup a combo like you are looking for. Some of the most common people talked about on here are Advanced Induction, Lloyd Elliot, Port Pro's. These are all good choices, but they are not the only ones...There are alot of people qualified to do this for you. Do your research, e-mail each and everyone one of them, and among those choose which seems to fit your bill and your needs the best. The only other advice I can give is to take your time, and do it right. Supporting mods you already know about, they are important...as well as good tuning, the more unique your combination is, the more important a good dyno tune will be. Also know that most likely there will be some hidden kinks, & issues your setup will have, just keep this in mind and be patient and work them all out. I seem to ramble about this alot, but I see ALOT of people make this mistake and think they can just bolt a Heads/Cam package in and expect it to be perfect right away. Then they either dont fix the problem, or they start blaming the vendor for the issues...when they probably could have been resolved fairly easily with alittle time and patience.

Thanks man, i totally understand, a H/C package is not in the near future until i get atleast 3.73's, might go 4.10's, do an M6 swap or a better Torque converter, intake and exhaust (headers back), maybe buy an intake or port the stock one depends on cash, i know several tuners in my area and i think that just about covers it. I was kinda looking mainly for good cams for my description so that when the time comes it wont be too much more research before i get it. Thanks

Well I am a firm believer in smaller cams and by the sounds of it that may be what you are looking for. Even the smaller cams like to be revved just over 6k RPMS. Some cams to look into could be the crane 214/224, GM 846, CC 305, XE 224/230, LPE 211/219, LPE 219/219, LT4 Hotcam. THese are not all, there are MANY more...but these are talked about often and proven performers.
