If you had bought it from a dealer, it would probably fall under the state's Lemon Laws. However since it sounds like it was bought from an individual, you may just have to try to take him to civil court. Sorry to hear about everything. Hopefully we can help you get everything fixed

Hi pugads650, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about ur motor yet. there are a few possible and likely reasons for what you saw. The milky oil cap AND the gas smelling oil is extremely common in any vehicle that does alot of short trips w/out being run to operating temp. It happens alot with old lady cars and cars on used car lots. When the veh. is run to op. temp on a regular basis it will burn 99% of accumulated moisture in the crank case. the same theory is true for the gas smell in the oil.

And on a side note, that sounds real shady of ur mechanic to say that to you based on those two "symtoms" and i would stay away from him. That motor needs an oil change and to have some miles put on it after a proper combustion leak test.
Lemme know how it goes.

John, not sure what u mean bout the comp. Do you mean a scanner? if you do no,but u can watch the temp. more accurately on a scanner. the best way is w/a combustion leak tester. it detects carbon monoxide in the cooling system.
it will turn the dye from blue to green then yellow depending on the exposure.

and that time sitting would cause those 2 symptoms
