Default STOCK engine capablity

Okay I am planning on either some sort of power adder or heads and a cam.

How much can a stock engine really take with extra power like this?

I have 88,000 miles and currently this car is my daily school and work car.

I am getting headers fairly soon now

I have

(pace setter coated long tubes soon)
3.73 rearend
ORY-Pipe
52mm throttle body
free mods(lt4 km, tb bypass, descreend MAF, minor weight reduction)
HPPIII
1900 Stall(with a stock rebuilt trans at around 78,000 miles)
Flowmaster(soon to be replaced by hooker)

My choices are either to get:

cam kit
Heads and cam kit(with my stock heads traded in on them+cash)
Zex nitrous (wet or dry not really sure yet)

If I end up with the juice I am not going anywere over 100hp shot most likley only 75

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I don't want to wear the **** out of my engine but I am just so bored driving my car it seems slow to me now.

Thanks

Ed

I would say 500 FWHP is a good number and thats being very conservative. They are people on here that make more than that with stock bottoms ends.

There are several reputable companies that have some good H/C packages to choose from:

www.eportworks.com
www.advancedinduction.com

As far as what the bottom end can handle, like Docspeed said, 500 FWHP is achievable with the stock bottom end. Just remember though, CHEAP and RELIABLE don't go together. If your looking at serious power, you might want to think about going with a beefier bottom end.

I would recommend going with a larger stall if you do any serious modding. A 2400-2800 stall would be nice and would allow you to maintain the drivability of the car.
