Default Help Not Sure what's wrong....Clutch, trans, hydraulics?????

ok here;s the problem.
Just bought the car.
96 camaro full lt4 motor fully port & polish

The car is very tough to get into any gear initially while idling. It wont even go into re-verse at all. When car is off it goes into all gears fine. SO to get it into reverse you have to start it in re-verse. Which is a bitch to do all the time. Once you get going it's no problem at all to shift.
The guy I got it from has a tranny and drivetrain shop up in Bay City Michigan.
I have reciepts from the guy and it says the motor has 300 miles on it and tranny and all. Dual Centerforce Clutch. I dunno if somehow the guy is still ripping me off or what. I called him today and he says he will pay half if it;s the clutch.
My mechanic says hes pretty sure it's the clutch.
The guy I bought the car from says to maybe bleed it. He says there is a bleeder screw above the slave.

Anyone have any advice for me??

The clutch isnt disengauging, very common with the centerforce clutches. To tell 100% if thats the problem, put the rear of the car in the air. Start the car, put it in gear and hold the clutch in, I bet the rear tires spin. If they do.....

You need an adjustable master cylinder to fix the problem.

Just a general FYI, you may find some people reply with centerforce sucks comments. So I will preceed them. Centerforce only sucks because they dont include an adjustable master with the clutch to start with. Every problem I have seen with Centerforce and LT1 stuff is related to the hydrolics not fully engauging/disengauging. After you get one on the car, its a great clutch thats driveable and will hold power.

Ok, now the bad news. McLeod makes one, pretty much cash, very nice. All metal housing nicely welded etc. Part 139001, $356 list price. Its made for our cars, plug and play.

Ram makes one that is listed as LS1 specific. However, i dont see why it wouldnt work. The McLeod units are the same for ls1/lt1. This uses a stock style cylinder. $160

Final option, www.lt1dave.com. Try shooting him an email, he used to modify the stock units to be adjustable, not sure if he still offers this service.
