Help Not Sure what's wrong....Clutch, trans, hydraulics?????
Just bought the car.
96 camaro full lt4 motor fully port & polish
The car is very tough to get into any gear initially while idling. It wont even go into re-verse at all. When car is off it goes into all gears fine. SO to get it into reverse you have to start it in re-verse. Which is a bitch to do all the time. Once you get going it's no problem at all to shift.
The guy I got it from has a tranny and drivetrain shop up in Bay City Michigan.
I have reciepts from the guy and it says the motor has 300 miles on it and tranny and all. Dual Centerforce Clutch. I dunno if somehow the guy is still ripping me off or what. I called him today and he says he will pay half if it;s the clutch.
My mechanic says hes pretty sure it's the clutch.
The guy I bought the car from says to maybe bleed it. He says there is a bleeder screw above the slave.
Anyone have any advice for me??
You need an adjustable master cylinder to fix the problem.
Ok, now the bad news. McLeod makes one, pretty much cash, very nice. All metal housing nicely welded etc. Part 139001, $356 list price. Its made for our cars, plug and play.
Ram makes one that is listed as LS1 specific. However, i dont see why it wouldnt work. The McLeod units are the same for ls1/lt1. This uses a stock style cylinder. $160

Final option, www.lt1dave.com. Try shooting him an email, he used to modify the stock units to be adjustable, not sure if he still offers this service.
