I am running Stock Eliminator. I am not allowed to touch the intake. I have run the 1993, 1994-96, and the 1997 manifolds. I really didn't notice a lot of difference. I am running a 1993 intake at the moment. I doubt that gasket matching the ports would hurt anything. It would be interesting to see what the actual gains would be. I doubt that it would be much at my cam lift.
The car is a 1998 Camaro. It weighs 3200 lb (RW). The motor is a .060 over LT1 with stock LT1 heads (valve job and blueprinted by Jeff Warren). The cam has factory lift and runs 1.94/1.50 valves and uses stamped factory replacement rockers. It runs on 9" x 30" slicks with a TH200 and a 12-bolt with 4.88 gears. I also run Accel DFI.
This car is no way streetable, but it has yet to tap out the factory throttle body, intake, or even the injectors!

wow man, your car sounds nuts... but why would you swap out the stock LS1 in a 98 for a LT1?... LT1's stopped at 97... and 4.88 gears are insane...
but anyways... back to the point... im not precisely sure on the gain #'s, but it sure doesnt hurt to do it..

GM submitted the 1998 F-Bodies as LT1 cars to the NHRA. The LS1 is legal in 1999 and up cars. My Camaro is actually a 1999. It was originally a V6 car. I have been running LT1's since 1995, so it makes sense to stick with what I know for now. Besides, I feel that I still have a bunch to learn.
My trap speeds are usually 123-125 mph.
The lifters are NHRA "legal" hydraulics. They are pretty much factory lifters converted to solids. The motor is blueprinted to stock specs. which nets a final compression ratio of about 10.4.
