Connecting rod length
Connecting rod length I have a 95 M6 and i have the motor out and was doing a budject build on it.I had first intended to just re-ring it and bearing it because i spun a rod. well i came across a set of brand new set of forged probe pistons .30 over flat tops sportsman racing for 250 bucks,So ive decided to maybe go ahead and bore it for these pistons there are for a 6" rod though well i figured by the time i recondition my PM rods and install arp bolts i could buy a new set of Eagle I-beams for 175.00.I have my heads p&p already with 2.00 1.56 valves they flow some decent #'s my intake is ported also.Im running a LT4 hotcam with 1.65 ratio rr.I heard with certain rod lengths things change with how your cam reacts clarify this for me or was it just BS.And what do you guys think of running a 6" rod on a street motor i plan this to be my DD any help would be great

personally I like the 6" rods in anything. They typically move the power up a few hundred RPM's but they also make the RPM's easier on the pistons. I haven't heard of any drawbacks and for preformance, the longer the rod the better off you are. The rod/stroke ratio is important. Decreases the load on the sides of the pistons... Good move....
