With bolt ons only, no nitrous, it goes 12.80's @ 108 on Nittos.
If THAT is not a testament to how resilient these motors are I don't know what is

'94 Z28 w/auto trans. 95K on car.

The engine seems to be ok at the moment (knock on wood) but I've had a host of other problems. I.E.; starter failure, power window problems, windows don't seal properly and leak horribly, cd player quit (the rest of the radio is fine), cronic overheating issues, dash board panel cracked, cat failed and ruined the muffler, rocker covers weeping oil, rear main seal leaking oil, timing cover leaking oil, water pump failed, fuel pump failed, optispark failed...twice now, heater core, transmission failed and ate itself alive resulting in everything mechanical and electrical inside the transmission, including the converter being replaced. Not to mention the various knocks and rattles that come and go.

I'm not going to go into the more or less normal or routine maintance issues like tires, front end alignment, brakes, oil & filter changes, the many times flushing the radiator and replacing the coolant, battery, headlight bulbs, headliner falling, etc. Or even the 'performance' parts that I've bolted on.

I bought the car used about 4 years ago, it had approx 50K on it then. Gave $6K for it. As of today after replacing the opti and doing some other odds and ends to it I'm within a few hundred bucks of investing that same $6K back into it and that doesn't include money spent on items in the last paragraph.

It's a fun car and I have enjoyed driving and tinkering with it but I'm reaching my limits on 'upkeep'. I've had more vehicles than I care to count in my life and can't think of one that has given me this much grief even with roughly twice the milage.

What the heck though... It's only money and aggrivation, right?

Yeah, I totally agree. But still, a new camaro is a new camaro and I won't be able to afford one anyway
