Help! I need to beat a supercharged 99 Vette!
nitrous is a chemical supercharger. the pressure remains realitivly the same but the oxygen content is increased chemicaly.
to simplyfy:
at sea level the airpressure is roughly 15psia. with a 10:1 compression engine the pressure inside the cylinder is at 150psi (15 * 10 = 150) (roughly obviously valve overlap and other variables will change this this is a simplifycation.)
add 15 psi of boost to the 15psia of the air pressure for a total of 30 psia
(this is still a 10:1 comp engine) so 30 * 10 = 300 psi! thats ALOT of pressure.
Dont forget that when we compress a gas it heats up too!
now nitrous is injected at sea level (15 psia) When the liquid nitrous flashes off into a gas as soon as it hits ambiant air pressure (this has a cooling effect on the surrounding air.)
nitrous is N20 two nitrous atoms and one oxygen atom. (33% oxygen)
At sea level on a 59* day with low humidity there is 21% oxygen in the air.
so, there is the payoff more oxygen to add fuel to.
That being said, my first opinion is that your converter is a bit small....honestly I would have gone with AT LEAST a 3500 stall on that motor/gear combo. Cam is respectible as long as you go with one of the later/larger ones you mentioned. If you can get the power to the ground.....I think you should wipe the pavement with this guy depending on what else he has done besides the blower.
Just my .02 take it for what its worth, and let us know what happens.

p.s........Definitely get yourself a set of LCAs(lower control arms) with relocation brackets, and some sticky tires
I know my stall is larger than his.
I know my stall is larger than his.
