strokin it
As soon as I get back from this hell-hole (Iraq), I'm gonna stroke the LT1 Imp (383). I currently have the hotcam kit with mildly worked Aluminum heads. I wanted to keep the valvetrain set-up. Who's kit is recommended. Nothing super forged. cast steel or 5140 will do. It's the wifes weekend/sunnyday cruiser she races once in a while.
Will the GM hotcam clear the crank without being a -.100 base circle.
I was really thinking on the 6" rod combo to alleviate ext balancing and do the internal bal.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.
With my current mods, HC kit, mild heads(stock valves), LT's, !cats, CAI, 30#inj, PCMforless tune,2400stall...it made 300/300rw.
Anytime you do a stroked motor, you should run a smaller base circle cam. Besides that, the hot-cam isnt really ideal for a stroker.
Summit has a stroker kit, as well as Scoggin Dickey.
Everyone else I know of sells short & long blocks with the kit already in there.
