you gotta take off one radiator fan, water pump, belt, crank pulley. Not to bad to do it again but pulling the crank pulley off, and removing the water pump hoses the first time wasn't easy. soak the crank pulley in pbblaster overnight and get a 3 claw puller.

Thinking of just taking it to a garage and having them do it...
I am a novice mechanic...swapping out the fuel pump is probably the
limit of my abilities...plus I have heard horror stories of how the opti has
to be installed just right, timing whatsover, or the car wont start...
anyone know of someone willing to do this in Columbus, OH? or near?
I have money...

Just take your time and do a lot of searching on CamaroZ28.com, believe it or not your not the only LT1 owner who has changed it so theres a ton of info. One thing I would recomend is, this is a really great time to change hoses, and change hose clamps. My Opti died when my hose clamp broke, so if they are off might as get some new ones on there.
