Best Cam To Run In A 383 Stroker?
Best Cam To Run In A 383 Stroker? I recently blew my engine and am currently in the quest for more power. I have a 97 SS Camaro A4 and am trying to figure out what cam would be best to run in a 383 Stroker. I would also like to get a cam that would give the most power for my setup. This is my setup 383 crank H-Beam rods, ported lt1 heads by port pros that flow 165cfm@.600 lift I have CompCams 1.6 roller rockers, CAI, K&N airfilter, ported maf ends, 52MM TB from BBK/Edelbrock, ported LT1 intake also done by port pros, 30# SVO injectors, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, LT4 Knock Module, Pacesetter LT's, ORY-pipe, 3000 super street fighter stall by TCI, Shift kit by Trans Go. In the future I hope to run possibly a 200-250 shot NOS. But for now I would like a damn good bumpstick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went with a 218/222 .544/.538 112lsa in my 396. We picked the cam when my car was still a daily driver and I wanted civil street manners. It has ran in the 11.6's @119 NA and 10.9's @ 127 on a small shot of nitrous. Now that the car is a track only car I called LaZer back and went back over my goals with him and will be changing to a 24x/25x .6xx/.58X.
Cam choice is not cut and dry as to which one to go with. Find a cam grinder that you like. Tell them what you want from the car and trust their opinion.

It depends on alot of different factors.. If your not comfortable considering all the specifics and finding a cam to best suit all of them, its best to leave the decision to an experienced proffesional.
