Can't stand the old people...always taking 3 minutes to switch into their turning lane and braking 625 feet ahead. My horn gets used a lot.

OK, when I asked about the oil cooler and the cooling lines, I meant the oil cooling line going from the oil filter adapter to the cooler, the oil cooler itself and the oil cooling line going from the cooler back to the adapter.

So far from what's been posted in this thread, it seems like an oil change is 5 quarts and with the oil cooler and it's lines emptied, it all still takes 5 quarts to fill it all.

Does the cooler and it's lines not account for any volume of oil?

It would make sense that the oil cooler and it's lines should account for about another quart.

The entire oil system, including the cooler and lines should therefore take about 6 quarts to fill from dry.

Can anybody confirm this?

I could see the cooler holding about a cup of oil, maybe cup and a half (I've never measured it). That would be close enough to 5.5 quarts

I've always used 5 quarts every oil change. It shows fine on the dipstick every time - I don't worry about it.

5 qts with the short filter. Roughly 5 and 1/4 quarts with a long filter.
Oil cooler will make no difference. Just check your dipstick numerous times.
Wait an hour and check it again. Go for a drive and check it again.
