It should sound pretty good, it would really be the exact same thing as a cutout.

Search around for cutout videos and you'll be able to see what I mean.

FWIW, I've got an e-cutout on my car and drive around with it always open, I get compliments so it sounds pretty nice

Mother of God.

Don't take off your cat and run open y... Sounds like ABSOLUTE ****, like your car belongs at the destruction derby kind of sound.

Cut-outs are loud but still don't sound bad due to the cats.

I agree, I have a friend who removed his cat, and the exhaust sounds like garbage in my opinion. It's very raspy and has a ton of drone, but I guess it is fairly loud. If you want loud exhaust that sounds good, look at some true duel systems, or a normal aftermarket catback with an off-road y-pipe... check out LS1sounds.com They have a ton of helpful and cool videos to look and listen to.

Leave the cat, it usually cleans up the sound on LT1s.

I've noticed that without cats the car sounds like **** around 2200-2500 rpms under part acceleration. other than that no complaints here. I have kooks LTs, ory, and borla catback in case you wanted to know.

I would also run the intermediate pipe.

If you want a better sound, just cut off the pipe right before it goes over the axle.

Won't really help the sound in the car though...

personaly I like it with gutted cats and then a cut-out. But I like it loud like that. Not too raspy for me.

Theres my car with an open cutout. Bone stock otherwise.

You gotta turn the volume pretty far up to get an idea of how it is in real life.

I don't think cutting the pipe off RIGHT after the cat will sound good at all, **** will be rattling and and probably sound like ***.

Open headers: you'll get pulled over probably within 5-10min of driving. LOUD as hell!

Cut it off around where my cutout is placed(right in front of the rear tire):

and you'll be fine.
