i just went to go bolt on my opti and i noticed i might have a problem...the dowel only goes on one way, but the notch on it should be at the top right? my notch is on the bottom but the service manual says it needs to be on top. do i have to pull it ALL back apart and set the sprocket so its on top?

 

was the motor TDC?

 

yeah when i set the timing everything was matched up. i read my haynes manual though and it said just get the dowel in whichever way it fits so i guess it doesnt matter

 

the nonvented dowels only go in one way, just turn the opti to match up to where the cam is.

 

just spin the opti till it lines up, then bolt it up

 

yep thats it , they say that they are hard to change . can be done in 2 hours

 

what takes you so long. j/k
