Question trouble code

I am getting a trouble code in my 95 ta. It is malf 48: malf system failed. I was wondering if this was my O2 sensor or some thing to do with my opti. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You misread the code. DTC 48 is a MAF code -- indicating a fault in the Mass AirFlow Sensor circuit.

First things first, I would remove the MAF sensor and clean it with brake parts cleaner / electronics parts cleaner, and inspect the electrical harness for corrosion. If that doesn't help it, then you need to do some testing with a volt meter. We can go further into this if you need.
