flex plate and starter

flex plate and starter Car has trouble starting,and has a shake/rattle coming from that area, so im assuming these two need to be replaced...
about how hard is the job,and about how much should I pay for these parts?
car is an auto 95 z28.....the car starts and seems fine.....the auto tranny does shift from 1-2 hard but nothing seems to be slipping at all.....
