Default 383 Estimate

Okay guys here is my build plan:
7K RPM fully forged 383.
GM LT4 heads ported by Joe O or Lloyd Elliot (who would you shoose)
A big cam that will make power way up top. (want to talk to Joe about matching the cam to the heads.
What kind of ballpark power numbers do you think ill be looking at here, and quarter mile times?

If I sprayed where do you think that would get me?

This will be through an M6 and a 9 inch. (not sure on gear ratios yet)

450's + but no greater than 470's on motor. Go with ET performance heads they cost as much as LE and are cnc'd my LT1 heads from them are quoted as low to mid 290's flow. This is the same pricce as LE 2 heads, but it is your call LE and Joe O. both do great stuff JMO !!!

Joe Overton doesn't port heads. He has Eric Bradby do them....Joe just designs the cams.

Anyways, I highly suggest contacting Lloyd Elliot. He'll set you up with awesome heads and a cam to match.

Sorry I just saw on his site head porting and... well you know what I mean. So you dont think that the ported GM LT4 casting will be enough to feed the 383 and I should go with something different? Trickflows?

I was thinking have Lloyd port the heads and having Joe match the cam to them or do you think It would be better if I had Joes guy do it then he can match the cam to it?

Also the numbers quoted is that at the wheels or crank?

It would be easier to have one or the other do the Heads/Cam packaging save your *** in shipping when you will get close to the same results. Advanced Inductions is a Trick Flow dealer and they do the same as LE and Joe O. as far as cam matching to your heads. The power number is at the rear wheel and that is with a real good tune.

if your going to buy a different casting head, dont get the lt4 just get a bare afr or tfs and have them ported.
probably cost a little more though.
