Default Engine Removal Guide

Here's an engine removal guide I put together. I might have done a few steps that didn't have to be done. Had to drop the picture quality so I could upload to my account. A few people have the good version floating around. First file is the pictures (11 MB), 2nd is the writeup.

Comments are welcome!

Nice writeup man! Ive never seen such description! But I have the same questions as "localmechanic" and is there a better way then disconnecting all those brake lines from the ABS/TC assembly? Also is there a way to remove the AC Compressor so AC doesnt have to be evacuated?

5 year old thread you brought up, but the only brake lines you have to disconnect are the ones going to the front brakes from the ABS motor. The master cylinder can be gently coaxed to give room without disconnecting lines.

The a/c compressor can also be supported with some straps after being freed from the brackets. No discharge necessary, but you have to be careful.

And it will get in your way, tangle with the tranny cooler lines, get caught on the
engine while you sliding it into place and make you wish you had just
discharged the thing in the first place.

Just my .02

The worst part was that I later found out that the compressor was bad and had to come out anyway.
