cam in my ta
ok i have a 95 ta, its has 200000 miles, now i plan on rebuilding it as soon as possible but right now that looks like it will be atleast a year from now, so here is the question, i want a cam just for the sound, i am not a racer just love my cars looks and want it to sound mean, the motor runs perfect, doesnt smoke, doesnt knock, its really nice but does it have too many miles for a cam.im wanting to get the lt4 hot cam, if that makes any difference.

if your looking for just sound, then yes, a hotcam would be good. But you can find smaller grinds w/ a 112 LSA. The LSA is one factor of how an engine sounds. But not the only factor.
IMO, if it sounds BADAZZ, it will be put to the test and then you will want more POWAAAA!!!!
EDIT: It's 10:30 at night here and if I read all those 0's right, if it was well maintained, 200k ain't nuttin for an LT1. 145k on mine and I did the cam at 135k no ridge, no bearing wear etc. Everything mic'd perfect.

ok i just went to a local garage and asked what they would charge to put the cam in and it was 900 dollars . is this a correct price because that is not what i was hopin for, they said its a 13 hour job, good grief if i have to spend that much monet i might as well just wait for the rebuild.

if i were you, take off the front end, which saves them a lot of hours of work *they like to exaggerate* and then say would you do it for like100, i would rather have someone else actually install the cam but not take off the front end, thats easy
that way if the cam messes your car, its their fault haha
