Block conversion... Does anybody know of a way to convert a standard block to an LT version to accommodate the LT waterpump, reverse cooling and LT heads? Has it been done?

But im not sure on what the deal is with reverse flow cooling.... jsut another one of those hurdles to jump..
Like I mentioned Jeff Green Converts a standard Gen 1 block to Gen 2 specs including provisions for Reverse Cooling, our Waterpump Etc. I do believe you can go up to 460 cubic inches. I think he stated at one time it was around $10000 for him to do one. I can't remember if that's for a longblock though
The LT1 blocks are very strong and pretty easy to come by so it's not really worth the money unless you are doing some class racing and need more cubic inches. The only weak point of the LTX blocks are the main caps so they need to be upgraded to 4bolt splayed caps. There have been a few people running low 9's and one guy that ran 8.00's@170+mph with the stock block. Spend your money elsewhere. later Clint
