Default Trip on Odometer BROKEN

Well, since I'm planning on selling my car this spring, and probably going LS1 or cummuter... hoping LS1 Z28. I'm trying to fix up a few little things with my car, no major problems besides a little hesitation on start up when it's cold. Just little crap...

Like the Trip Guage on my dash has quit working. For ahwhile it worked, but would only go to 10, and now it has quit working totally. Not recording any mileage. If this is an easy fix I figured I might as well do it, along with the brake pads I just ordered, seat covers, new buttons to replace the broken ones.

Anyone have any information as to why the trip has quit working, if I have to pull apart the dash I probably won't do it, but it would be nice to have an idea.

Thanks in advance

No need to pull the dash apart, just the cluster, a lot of time I have read that a little plastic clip inside the cluster breaks and it wont count, mines wont count past .9 miles on the trip.

Hmm, my '93 Suburban won't count past .9 either. See a pattern anyone?

Mine used to have the same problem. Everyone suggested everything from TSB's to whatever. Come to find out, it was low battery voltage. It stopped when I replaced the battery when it finally went dead. Now it works like it is supposed to.

Who would have ever guesse it was so so simple.

I see 5 vehicles from 1993 in this thread. Hmm...

As for the '99, I'd believe that, since it's a digital odo.

My dad's 89 GMC Sierra pickup used to get hung on .9 as well. It would click and you could jiggle the button and it would finally go. Eventually put a new cluster in it anyways.
