Default ceramic coating

I just got a new set of ceramic coated headers and was wondering how I should run the car to cure the coating.

What coating do you have? How do your collectors look?

If your asking me, they are ceramic coated EM headers and the collectors look the same as the primaries. (Or they did yesterday afternoon when I was under the car.
The EM headers were coated inside and out, and seem to be holding up well.

I have the C1180s with C1180EC extensions EM

It just takes some time and a few heat cycles to cure the coating. Just remember, after that happens there is a good chance that your 02 sensors will have become contaminated. I usually tell people to run headers for a month or 2 and then change out the front 02's.

That's good advice on the O2's. As far as the header itself, the coating has already been cured during the process, at 700 degrees for an hour depending on the coating used. It will not need further curing.

So I'm about ready to buy headers that are rusting a little on the bottom, but they are cermic coated. If I sent them in to be re-coated- would they still rust again or not? And why do yours look so good and the ones I'm about to buy are rusting after 18 months?
