stock rear end

I will be getting my trans rebuilt soon with a shift kit and stall etc. thinking of doing 3.73's at the same time, but would the stall, prolly 3k, and the gears just rip up the stock rear end? when should I need to replace it?

with a A4 and just bolt-ons and stall you should be all right if you get a rear end girdle, and the some main cap studs, and that is just added security.

I blew apart my factory rearend, and this was with a stock engine with basic bolt-ons, and little tweaks... The factory rears are very weak. I bought an Auburn Pro Series with a Shim Kit for $503. I am still in the breakin phase with the cam, so I haven't had the chance to push it, but it is supposed to handle 500hp/torque. We will see...

Breakin on a roller cam?????? Don't know a whole lot do you? The pinions are a common failure as well not just the diff. go ahead and throw a girdle and maybe studs at it but don't get any more carried away trying to beef it up than that. Unsually though a mild A4 car will be fine the M6 shocks it a whole lot more which is what breaks things.

What I was sayin was that I broke it with only headers on it,, and some small tweaks. It was before the cam and gears. Just bigger tires did it. I guess I have a good setup.. lol
